The governor of Virginia has just had to declare a state of emergency as there are violent riots going on in the state at present by white, middle and upper-middle class neo-Nazi men and women. A university in Virginia watched this week in horror as the white, alt-right group of white supremacist and neo nazis marched through campus carrying burning torches and chanting Nazi slogans. I can't imagine ever feeling safe enough to let my children go to school in Virginia. The state seems to have recently turned into a hotbed of hate and violence. It's the 1960's all over again and Virginia is at the center of it all.

DANGER!!!!!.....the middle class, white supremacist are back again, today, October 8, 2017. And, they vow to continue coming back. Virginia is a hotbed of hate that is largely supported by local Virginians, of which, many are outwardly racist and many, many more are hidden racist. Please, take all precautions or you could loose your life just driving through this state.
Obviously a good amount of funding went into this welcome center. Very friendly staff and well kept facilities.
Be very, very, very careful as you pass through the state. It's an extremely dangerous place to be right now.

I was a former employee (95/2006) at the Welcome Center..Although it has changed a bit. the staff and I are close in respect to the service and care of the area. Great for the public.
